Set in France during the mid-1970s, Vanessa, a former dancer, and her husband Roland, an American writer, travel together. They seem to grow apart, but as they linger in one quiet, seaside town, they start to get closer to some of its more lively residents, like the local bar/cafes and hotel owners.
