Film Synopsis:
Brazil, 18th century. Portugals colonies experienced a decline in gold production. The Portuguese minority ruled over a corrupt and autocratic society. Joaquim was an efficient soldier, famous for capturing gold smugglers. While awaiting his promotion to Lieutenant, he abandons a risky mission to search for a new gold mine - the only way to buy the Freedom of Blackie, a slave he loves.
