Movie: Lullaby of Broadway (1951)
Film Synopsis:
Pretty Melinda Howard has been singing abroad with a musical troupe. He decides to return home to surprise his mother who he thinks is a successful Broadway star with a mansion in Manhattan. Little did he know that his mother was actually a cabaret singer who burned with love for whiskey. When he arrived at the mansion, he was brought in by two maids who were his mothers friends. The house actually belonged to Adolph Hubbell, a kind-hearted Broadway producer who was also interested in the play. Hubbell took a shine to Melinda and agreed to star with her in her next show. Melinda also finds romance with a handsome hoofer who is also on the show. Everything is going well for Melinda except she wants to see her mother who keeps postponing their reunion.
