Movie: Nights and Days (1975)
Film Synopsis:
Nights and Days is the story of the family of Barbara Ostrzenska-Niechcic, (played by Jadwiga Baranska) and Bogumil Niechcic, (played by Jerzy Binczycki) against the backdrop of the Uprising January 1863 and World War I. The film is rather straightforward and direct and the January uprising of 1863 and World War I. A faithful adaptation of a novel by Maria Dabrowska of the same title. The plot is woven around the changing fortunes of the noble (upper class) Niechcic family in pre-War Poland. There are two main crossing threads: The social historical one and the existential one.
