Film Synopsis:
"Occident" is a bittersweet comedy about people who want to emigrate from Romania, and about those who stay behind. The film has a rich and interesting structure: there are three different stories - a week in the film - that cross, interconnected and taking place in the same period. The characters influence each others lives, sometimes without even knowing. The main character of one story becomes a secondary character in another story. At the same time, scenes from the first part of the film bring unexpected facts when viewed a second or third time. The stories do not have just one ending: the first story ends in each of the three parts at a different point, showing very different solutions for the characters.
