Film Synopsis:
Born into a family of established court painters, seven-year-old Yoon-Jeong is a young girl with a talent for painting. However, the pressure was on her older sister to continue the proud family tradition, as women were not allowed to become professional painters. While her brother trains to replace him at court, Yoon-Jeong helps him by secretly painting him. The little girls life is turned upside down when her older brother commits suicide. To maintain family honor, she was forced to take her brothers name and live as a man. Yun-Boks genius and talent captured the heart of another great ruler of the time, Kim Hong-do. But his bold depictions of women were condemned by the Royal Institute as obscene. Yun-bok meets Kang-Mu and falls in love. For the first time, she felt a strong desire to abandon everything she had built and just be a woman in front of the man she loved. Kang-moo sacrificed everything for his love too.
