Movie: Storm Over Asia (1928)
Film Synopsis:
In 1918, a young and simple Mongol herder and trapper is conned out of valuable fox fur by a European capitalist fur trader. Scrambling from a trading post, he fled into the hills after a fight with the merchant who cheated him. In 1920 he became a Soviet partisan, and helped the partisans fight for the Soviets against the occupying British army. However he was captured by the British when they tried to ask for cows from the shepherds at the same time that the commander met the reincarnated Grand Lama. After the trapper is shot, the Army finds an amulet showing that he is a direct descendant of Genghis Khan. They discover he is still alive, so the army restores him to health and plans to use him as the head of a puppet regime. Thus, the trapper was propelled to prominence because he was in charge of a puppet government. In the end, however, the "puppet" turns against its master in a fit of rage.
