Film Synopsis:
A group of French soldiers, including working-class Captain Patrician de Boeldieu and Lieutenant Marechal, grapple with their own class differences after being captured and held in a World War German prison camp I. When the men are moved to a high-security fortress, they must devise a plan to escape under the watchful eye of the aristocratic German officer Von Rauffenstein, who has formed an unlikely bond with de Boeldieu.
