Movie: The Last Command (1955)
Film Synopsis:
During the Texas War of Independence in 1836 American frontiersman and pioneer Jim Bowie urges caution with rebellious Texans. They did not heed his advice because he was a Mexican citizen, married to the daughter of the Deputy Governor of the Province of Mexico and a friend to General Santa Anna since the days they fought together for Mexican independence. After serving as president for 22 years, Santa Anna became too powerful and arrogant. He ruled Mexico with an iron fist and he would not allow Texas to rule itself. Bowie sided with the Texans in their quest for independence and urged a cautious strategy, considering Santa Annas strength and cunning. Despite disagreements between the Texicans and Bowie regarding proper strategy, they asked Bowie to lead them in a final stand, at the Alamo, against General Santa Annas numerically superior forces.
