Film Synopsis:
As Garibaldis troops begin the unification of Italy in the 1860s, a Sicilian aristocratic family reluctantly adapts to the social changes that undermine their way of life. The proud but pragmatic Prince Don Fabrizio Salina allows his war heros nephew, Tancredi, to marry Angelica, the beautiful daughter of Gauche, the bourgeois Don Calogero, in order to maintain the familys level of comfort and political influence.
