Film Synopsis:
Gwynplaine, the son of Lord Clancharlie, has a permanent smile carved into his face by the king, as revenge for Gwynplaines fathers betrayal. Gwynplaine is adopted by a traveling showman and becomes a popular idol. He falls in love with blind Dea. The king dies, and his evil jesters try to destroy or corrupt Gwynplaine.
