Film Synopsis:
In 1944, in eastern China, US Major Baldwin and his team of volunteer demolition engineers are left behind by retreating Chinese troops. Their task was to slow the Japanese advance into eastern China by blowing up bridges, roads, airfields and ammunition. They started by blowing up American airfields and dumping ammunition. They received orders to destroy a vital bridge over the mountain pass. The team used several army trucks to move around. On the bridge, they encountered a nationalist Chinese Army unit tasked with guarding the bridge. Thanks to an American soldier who spoke some Chinese, Major Baldwin requested permission, from the Chinese commander, to blow up the bridge.
