Movie: The Profession of Arms (2001)
Film Synopsis:
In the fall of 1526, the Emperor, Charles V, sent the German Landsknechts led by Georg von Frundsberg to march on Rome. The inferior papal army, commanded by Giovanni DeMedici, tried to pursue them amidst the harsh winter. Nevertheless, the imperial troops managed to cross the river along their march and obtain cannons thanks to the maneuvers of the rulers. In a skirmish, Giovanni DeMedici was wounded in the leg by Falconets gunfire. Attempts to cure him failed and he died. Rome Imperial Army Rome. The film is beautiful but set without assumptions, and shows the harsh conditions in which the war was fought and the lack of glory. It ends directly with the declaration made after Giovanni DeMedicis death by the commanders of the troops in Europe not to use firearms any more because of their cruelty.
