Film Synopsis:
Against the backdrop of war breaking out in Europe and Mexicos dying day, we are taken through a day in the life of Geoffrey Firma, a British consul living a life of alcoholic ravages and obscurity in a small southern Mexican town in 1939. Konsulss self-destructive behavior, perhaps a metaphor for a civilization that has gone rogue, is a source of confusion and sadness for his nomadic, idealized half-brother, Hugh, and his ex-wife, Yvonne, who has returned with hopes of healing Geoffrey and their broken marriage.
