Film Synopsis:
The first of Nacer Khemirs highly regarded desert trilogy that includes a lost necklace and Babaziz - a prince contemplating his soul. Khemir creates an exotic world with desert nomads when a young teacher arrives to take over an isolated village school in the sparkling desert. Legendary figures materialize from wells and the desert itself, groups of children rush through a maze of underground corridors, the teacher is taken to a mysterious meeting place and never returns.
