Film Synopsis:
In the early 1200s, Dogen brought Chinese Zen philosophy to Japan, and founded the Japanese School of Zen Buddhism. He taught that a person is able to realize Buddhahood within himself, through Zazen. Zazen extends to hours of sitting and meditating to achieve the state of "mu" (nothingness, or empty existence).
