Film Synopsis:
Young and talented Han Van Meegeren is a rebel in Amsterdams early 1920s art scene. Because he painted in the style of his idols Rembrandt and Vermeer, critics found his work archaic and they called him an imitator. Just to prove a point, he produces a fake Vermeer and tries to pass it off as the real thing. Succeed. Instead of revealing the truth and thereby embarrassing the art world, he continued to make money from his many forgeries. Soon he is caught in a web of lies and deception, and his life spins out of control.
