Film Synopsis:
In Brooklyn circa 1900, the Nolans manage to enjoy life on money despite great poverty and Papas alcoholism. We get to know these people well through problems big and small: Aunt Sissys succession of embarrassing "husbands"; removal of one visible tree from their tenement; And young Francies desire to transfer to a better school... if her irresponsible Papa can get his act together.
