When the villages first supermarket opens its doors in 1975, Freddys isolated life is turned upside down. To celebrate its opening, the supermarket is holding a bicycle race where the winner will meet Eddy Merckx. Freddys father, a strong supermarket opponent, wants nothing to do with the race.
