Film Synopsis:
Based on the autobiographical work of New Zealand writer Janet Frame, this production depicts the author at various stages of her life. Stricken with mental and emotional problems, frame grew up in a poor family and experienced many tragedies while still in his youth, including the death of two of his siblings. Portrayed as an adult by Kerry Fox, Frame found acclaim for his writing while still in a mental institution, and his success helped him move on with his life.
