Film Synopsis:
The plot revolves around the controversial relationship between Maid Stefania Chornenko and Blueblood Adelia Anger against the backdrop of provincial Austro-Hungary in 1900. Both Stefanias parents and Adelias mother died during the fire. Adelias father adopted a neighbors orphan. The girls grow up together to become as close as the sisters, even though Stefania serves as a maid. This attachment develops into a love trap: on the one hand full of manipulation and jealousy, but equally based on love and devotion. The illusion of balance is broken when Adelia marries the sculptor Petro. Things get even more complicated when Joseph, Stefas old love interest, returns to town as a man and a married man.
