Film Synopsis:
Fictional exploration of Beethovens life in his final days working on the ninth symphony. Its 1824. Beethoven is racing to complete his new symphony. However, it has been years since his last success and he is plagued by deafness, loneliness and personal trauma. A copyist was needed to assist the composer. A fictional character is introduced in the form of a young conservatory student and aspiring composer named Anna Holtz. The mercurial Beethoven was skeptical that a woman might be involved in the masterpiece but gradually trusted Annas help and eventually came to like her very much. At the time the work was done, his presence in her life was an absolute necessity. His deep understanding of his work is such that he even corrects mistakes he has made, while his passionate personality opens the door to his private world.
