Movie: Farewell to the King (1989)

Film Synopsis:
An American soldier who escaped the execution of his comrades by Japanese soldiers in Kalimantan during World War II becomes the leader of a personal kingdom among the headhunters in this war story told in the style of Joseph Conrad and Rudyard Kipling. The American reluctantly rejoins the fight against Japan at the urging of a British commando team but wages a war of revenge when Japan attacks his adopted people.
