Film Synopsis:
Early 18th century. Cartographer Jonathan Green makes a scientific journey from Europe to the east. After passing through Transylvania and crossing the Carpathian Mountains, he finds himself in a small village lost in an impossible forest. Nothing but chance and heavy fog could have brought him to this cursed place. The people living here did not resemble anyone else that travelers had seen before. The villagers, who have dug a deep ditch to ward themselves off from the rest of the world, share the naive belief that they can save themselves from evil, failing to understand that evil has made its nest in their souls and is waiting for an opportunity to storm out of the world.
