Film Synopsis:
His recently deceased wife, Thomas Jefferson accepts the post of United States Ambassador to Pre-Revolutionary France, although she finds it difficult to adjust to life in the country where the aristocracy subdued the increasingly restless peasantry. In Paris, he became fascinated with the cultured artist Maria Cosway, but, when her daughter visited from Virginia accompanied by her attractive slave, Sally Hemings, Jeffersons attention was diverted.
