Movie: Max and the Junkmen (1971)
Film Synopsis:
Max is a Parisian detective, solitary, independently wealthy, and frustrated by a gang of robbers he cant catch. To rebuild his stature and save his face, he decides to turn on a group of petty thieves (led by an old acquaintance) to rob a bank. A reluctant captain gives Max Intelligence and Max begins spending nights with Lilly, a prostitute who is the girlfriend of the groups leader. He poses as a rich banker with money to burn and encourages Lilly to think about her future. He hinted at the payroll coming through his bank.
