Movie: The Boat Is Full (1981)
Film Synopsis:
During World War II, Switzerland had very limited refugees: "Our boats were full." A train from Germany stops briefly in an isolated corner of Switzerland. Six people jumped in seeking asylum: four Jews, a French child, and a German soldier. They seek temporary refuge with a couple who run the village inn. They pose as a family: the deserter as the husband, Judith as his wife, an old man from Vienna as the father, the grandson and the young Frenchman, whom they begged to keep quiet, as their children. Judiths teenage brother poses as a soldier. The fabrication unravels through coincidence and a determined investigation by the local police. Who will Switzerland allow to stay? Who is deported?
