Film Synopsis:
In 1970s Iran, Marjane Marji Statrapi witnesses events through the eyes of her youth and her idealistic family about the long dream fulfilled of the defeat of the hated Shah in the Iranian revolution of 1979. But as Marji grew up, she witnessed firsthand how new the new was in Iran in 1979. Iran, now ruled by Islamic fundamentalists, had become its own repressive tyranny.
