Movie: Salt of the Earth (1954)

Film Synopsis:
At New Mexicos Empire Zinc Mine, Mexican-American workers protest unsafe working conditions and unequal wages compared to their Anglo counterparts. Ramon Quintero helps organize the strike, but he proves to be a hypocrite by treating his pregnant wife, Esperanza, to the same injustice. However, when an order stops the men from protesting, gender roles are reversed, and women find themselves on the picket line while the men stay at home.
