Film Synopsis:
In 1858 Lourdes, France, Bernadette, a teenage peasant girl, has a vision of "a beautiful woman" in the town dump. She never claimed it to be anything other than this, but the townspeople all considered her to be the Virgin Mary. The arrogant government officials thought she was crazy, and did their best to suppress the girl and her followers, and the church wanted nothing to do with the whole matter.
