Movie: They Rode West (1954)
Film Synopsis:
Allen Seward is assigned to a western cavalry post where his predecessors have become drunkards and slackers. The post was also not kind to him, especially after he ignored the rules and tended to sick Indians on a malaria-ridden reservation. The Indians broke away from the reservation to move to higher ground, and when they joined the Comanches to besiege the fort, Seward was branded a "Woodhawk," a bird that turned against him himself. Donna Reed appears as the post commanders niece; Phil Carey is a cavalry captain who believes that the only good Indians are dead Indians, and perhaps Wynn is a white girl raised by Indians and married to the chiefs son.
