Film Synopsis:
Rosie Ming, a young Canadian poet, is invited to perform at a poetry festival in Shiraz, Iran, but she would rather be in Paris. He lives at home with overprotective Chinese grandparents and has never been anywhere alone. Once in Iran, he finds himself in the company of poets and Persians, all of whom tell him stories that force him to confront his past; Irans father, he assumes abandoned him and the nature of poetry itself. Its about building bridges between cultural and generational divides. Its about being curious. Stay open. And find your own voice through the magic of poetry. Rosie goes on an unconscious journey of forgiveness, reconciliation, and perhaps above all, understanding, through learning about her fathers past, her own cultural identity, and her responsibility towards him.
