Film Synopsis:
Jake Huard, from a family of shipbuilders, promised his dying mother he would get to the Anapolis Naval Academy. Thanks to resolutely rooting for a member of Congress, he was elected despite his dubious merits. Once inside, Jake is immediately shown to be below par academically. Constantly challenged to his limits, repeatedly making exaggerated excuses for the entire class to suffer, Jake almost quits, but after facing his fathers completely unsupportive return in time. The stubborn Jake finds support in friends as well as Señor Ali, his future lover, and a discipline he can excel in: a brigade boxing tournament, open to all ranks.
