Movie: Bang the Drum Slowly (1973)
Film Synopsis:
The story of a New York Pro baseball team and its two players. Henry Wiggen was the star pitcher and Bruce Pearson was a normal everyday catcher who was far from the star player on the team and a friend to all his teammates. During the season, Bruce learns that he is seriously ill, and Henry, his only true friend, is determined to be the only person there for him during his final season with the club.
