Film Synopsis:
Marcel Marx, a former Bohemian and struggling writer, has given up his literary ambitions and moved to the port city of Le Havre. He lives a simple life based around his wife Arletty, his favorite bar and his not-so-lucrative profession as a shoemaker. When Arletty suddenly becomes seriously ill, Marcel takes refuge with an underage illegal immigrant from Africa, who needs Marcels help to hide from the police.
