Movie: Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (1965)

Film Synopsis:
In a Carpathian village, Ivan falls in love with Marichka, the daughter of his fathers murderer. When tragedy struck him, his grief lasted for months; Eventually he rejoined the colorful life around him, marrying Palagna. He wants children but his thoughts remain on his lost love. To win back her attention, Palagna tries magic, and in the process falls under the witchs spell, publicly humiliating Ivan, who then fights the witch. The lively rhythm of village life, work and holidays, pageants and feasts at weddings and funerals, the change of seasons, and the beauty of nature give proportion to Ivans tragedy.
