Film Synopsis:
Set halfway through the 17th century, a church drama is performed for the benefit of the young aristocrat Cosimo. In the play, a strange old woman gives birth to a beautiful baby boy. The older sister quickly exploited the situation, selling the blessing of the baby, and even claiming she was the real mother with a virgin birth.
