Movie Synopsis:
The lives of Escondido, California residents Cheryl and Stephen Crowe change one morning when they find their twelve-year-old daughter, Stephanie Crowe stabbed to death in her bedroom. As procedure dictated, the police took each member of the household in individually for questioning, and the remaining children – fourteen-year-old Michael Crowe and teenager Shannon Crowe – were taken into protective custody until Cheryl and Stephen could be cleared. The police ultimately placed much of their focus on the sullen Michael, whom they questioned without advice and without discussion with his parents. The tone of the police questioning was that they believed Michael did kill his sister, the police lied, abused and coerced in the process. Under a barrage of questions, Michael finally confessed, as did his two friends, both of whom were asked in the same threatening tone.
