Film Synopsis:
Belle is inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, the illegitimate mixed-race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral. Raised by her aristocratic great-uncle Lord Mansfield and his wife, Belles lineage confers certain privileges, but her skin color prevents her from participating fully in the traditions of her social standing. Left wondering if she will find love, Belle falls for the vicars idealistic young son bent on change who, with her help, shapes Lord Mansfields role as Chief Justice to end slavery in England.
