Film Synopsis:
Thirty-something Hillary Burns has spent her life trying to gain approval from her parents, most specifically her judgmental mother, Meredith Burns, so far without success . Part of the deal for Hillary was marrying the right man. Thats why Hillary is so happy that shes engaged to successful attorney Jason King, whom shell be bringing home to meet the family for the first time at their Thanksgiving weekend get-together in a weeks time. However, Hillarys life begins to fall apart when she simultaneously loses her part-time newspaper writing job when the newspaper itself folds, and Jason dumps her when he tries to focus on his career which seems more important to him than Hillary.
