A World War I Veteran Sergeant leads troops in World War II, always in the company of Survivor Pvt. Griff, writer Pvt. Zab, Sicily Pvt. Vinci and Pvt. Johnson, in Vichy French Africa, Sicily, D-Day on Omaha Beach, Belgium and France, and ended up in a concentration camp in Czechoslovakia where they faced the true horrors of war.
