Film Synopsis:
Paris, 1482. Today is the festival of fools, taking place like every year in the square outside Notre Dame cathedral. Among other jugglers and entertainers, Esmeralda, a sensual gypsy, performs a bewitching dance in front of a delighted audience. From up in the cathedral tower, Frollo, an alchemist, looks at her lustfully. Later at night, Frollo orders Quasimodo, the disabled Bell Ringer and his loyal servant, to kidnap Esmeralda.
